How to prepare for WBJEE

  1. 1Mathematics alone is worth 100 of 200 marks — prioritise it.
  2. 2Category III questions have no negative marking, so attempt them carefully for partial credit.
  3. 3Be cautious with Category I and II guesses; both carry negative marks.
  4. 4Practise filling OMR sheets in your mocks — WBJEE is an offline exam.

Is WBJEE online or offline?

WBJEE is an offline, pen-and-paper exam with OMR answer sheets.

Is there negative marking in WBJEE?

Yes, in two of the three categories: −¼ for a wrong Category I answer and −½ for a wrong Category II answer. Category III has no negative marking.

How many papers are there in WBJEE?

Two: Paper I is Mathematics (75 questions, 100 marks) and Paper II is Physics and Chemistry (40 questions each, 100 marks). Each paper is 2 hours long.

What is a Category III question in WBJEE?

A 2-mark question with one or more correct options. You get full marks for marking all correct options, partial credit for marking only some correct options, and no negative marks.
